Camera Support¶
Ethiris VMS connects to cameras via three general connection types: Axis probe, ONVIF, and Generic (RTSP). Below is the camera support per Ethiris version, with the latest version shown first.
Ethiris 17.0.0.3¶
Camera support
Axis probe¶
Ethiris supports probing against certain camera brands. Probing is currently supported for Axis cameras, which means that all cameras with firmware 4.40 or later can be connected to Ethiris.
Ethiris supports video, PTZ, I/O, audio, and events via probed Axis cameras.
ONVIF¶
Ethiris supports video, PTZ, I/O, audio, and events via ONVIF.
Kentima has not tested every camera model on the market, but cameras that support ONVIF Profile S can likely be connected to Ethiris.
Generic¶
Ethiris also supports video via RTSP. This means that cameras with RTSP support can be connected to Ethiris by selecting the Generic type and then specifying a URL for retrieving video from the camera.
Note
This means that the vast majority of IP cameras and video encoders can likely be connected to Ethiris VMS via Axis probe, ONVIF, or Generic.
